The RSS has asked Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to resolve the controversy involving Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand, warning that the dispute could damage Sanatan unity ahead of the state elections. The Sangh?s leadership met Yogi, discussed organizational changes, and signaled that Yogi should remain the BJP?s principal face in the upcoming polls.

The Supreme Court expressed displeasure over NCERT?s rewritten Class 8 social science chapter on judicial corruption. The NCERT chief told the court the chapter had been revised, but the bench questioned who rewrote it and cautioned against creating a negative impression about the judiciary at an early age.

Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand also made a contentious statement, saying no political party was ?smart enough? to use him for elections. He claimed his work is for the Ganga and cow protection, announced a ?chaturangini? religious force, and framed the campaign as a dharmic struggle for cow protection.

In Maharashtra, the government made permits mandatory for passenger e-rickshaws and e-bikes, aiming for uniform rules. The new requirement includes number plates with yellow lettering on a green background, and applies across autos, taxis, and electric rickshaws to improve compliance and passenger safety.

Political debate intensified after NCP MLA Rohit Pawar met Rahul Gandhi seeking a fair probe into the reported plane accident death of Deputy CM Ajit Pawar. Rohit alleged no FIR has been filed and questioned the neutrality of the inquiry, pointing to the aviation ministry?s leadership and its ties with the airline involved. Rahul Gandhi reportedly expressed surprise and urged accountability.

Delhi?s LPG shortage has begun to reshape wedding menus. Caterers say item counts have been cut by about 40%, with some families opting only for a main course. Delays in cylinder supply have forced kitchens to use coal or wood, raising costs and squeezing small street-food vendors.

The Supreme Court also declined to urgently hear a plea for a nationwide menstrual-leave policy. The bench noted that such mandates might unintentionally reduce hiring of women and said stakeholders should deliberate and propose balanced solutions.
